Dylan is relatively new to RC, he began flying
in August 2005 with an LT40 trainer. Then came hurricane season and rebuilding work
and RC took a backseat until sometime in November when he got a Blade cp
helicopter
and began working on becoming a heli pilot. At the beginning of 2006 he began
flying a nitro heli (raptor 50) and has really progressed from there. Dylan now
has several helicopters including 90 size nitros and a 50 size electric.
Dylan attends many fun fly events across the country trying to both learn more
about RC and improve piloting skills. But at the age of 13 years he can
throw it around fairly well. Dylan went to Mayday, Prop nuts, IRCHA, Southern
Rotary Classic and Fallfest Heli funflys in 2006. And plans to attend the same
events plus some added events in 2007.
In one short year of flying helis Dylan has excelled in his
piloting skills. He can hover in all orientations both right side up and
inverted. he can fly forwards and backwards, flips and rolls from any
orientation, do funnels both inverted and right side up as well as hurricanes
and tic-tocs. He is beginning to work on pirouettes so he can throw those into
tricks as well.
Dylan hopes to advance enough to be able to one day fly
competitive events.
